For one thing, they show the soil disturbances / scatter clues as to where units "off-roaded"...
(Kudos to the LEOs -- they even strung yellow "Police Line" tape -- outlining and protecting the "dirt fan" on the I-5 pavement -- on the north side of the bridge...)
I'm working on a Google Earth "overlay" of photos -- but, that's now just for my own interest, since we already know why the accident occurred...
The main engine's path is obvious. Now, I'm trying to figure out where in the "consist" that passenger car (under the bridge, upside down) was located -- and how it got there ...without knocking that light pole down...
We do? Please enlighten me.
Half the people on this site think it's sabotage from Antifa or ISIS.
Considering the placement of the curve near the bridge, my own suspicion is that the engineer ignored the posted speed limit at the last block signal and started to blow around the curve at too high a speed. Then he panicked, dropped the air and applied his emergency brakes too late.
I think the rail car under the viaduct came off the left (in the train's direction of travel) side of the track, got hit by the container carrying tractor-trailer truck and turned upside down.
It was likely just in front of the car dangling off the left side of the viaduct. So, it was likely the third car in front of the rear engine and a car that likely contains a generator.
