I used to work in a franchised business.

Just saying, that Corporate had no input and no control over hiring decisions, pay/overtime pay issues, workman’s comp, or any other aspect of workers at our businesses.

So this decision makes sense, in that, the Corporate level was completely separate and distinct from the franchise.

why did Obama’s people change this in the first place? Was it so that people could sue McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, etc. and get bigger settlements from lawsuits? As opposed to a lawsuit against a local franchisee of a major company??

That is my assumption. They wanted access to deeper pockets.
