My wife always complains that I never listen to anything she says, at least I think that’s what she says.

Ya' might want to get your hearing checked. See, I have a medical excuse. The frequencies that I can not hear are EXACTLY the same as the frequencies in my wife's voice. The Dr. said that it was because of over use of those frequencies......and I'm sticking to it.
