In 1992, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) admitted he once sexually assaulted a woman in a column he wrote for the Stanford Daily titled So much for stealing second.
On February 19th, 1992, Booker, at the time masters student Stanford University who wrote a weekly Stanford Daily opinion column, penned the piece, in which he recounted his own experience with sexual assault. Booker began by noting that Telling ones own personal story is often the most powerful way to make a point, or, more importantly, to make people think, before adding When I hesitated in writing this column, I realized I was basking in hypocrisy. So I chose to write and risk.
Booker then goes on to describe how on New Years Eve in 1984, when he was 15, he grabbed a drunk friends breast while she was on a bed without obtaining her consent. The rising Democrat star apparently planned his groping with malice aforethought, recounting: I remember debating my next move as if it were a chess game.:
