FWIW, to my mind we don’t know who funded the dossier. If it was “funded”. We’ve seen what’s been reported, what’s been alleged. But I am not taking one damn bit of it as gospel.

Are you kidding me? Of course we know that the DNC and Hillary funded the dossier thru the law firm, Perkins Coie. Marc Elias, a lawyer for the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained the political consulting firm that commissioned Christopher Steele, the dossier's author, the Washington Post reported.

That agreement reportedly began in April 2016. Elias and his law firm, Perkins Coie, funded the research by the firm Fusion GPS that led to the dossier through October 2016.
