“let us build a 1/2 mile suspension bridge using African traditional methods. “

Somebody should simply ask her if she wants to descend in a research submarine which has been built with “alternative ways of knowing”, or, if she is willing to fly on a passenger aircraft built to the same non-standards.

Article at Purdue University News announcing her appointment. I note that she is running the Department of Engineering Education. WTF is that? From my link:

Leah Jamieson, the John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering, announced Tuesday (March 28) the next Kamyar Haghighi Head of the School of Engineering Education will be Donna Riley, a professor at Virginia Tech.

Kamyar Haghighi? Eh?

Mizzz Riley:

This is madness. I close with more of Mizz Riley's "thoughts" (she is said to be a "thought leader"):

“One of rigor’s purposes is, to put it bluntly, a thinly veiled assertion of white male (hetero)sexuality,” she writes, explaining that rigor “has a historical lineage of being about hardness, stiffness, and erectness; its sexual connotations—and links to masculinity in particular—are undeniable.”
