Newly released body camera footage shows a police officer shooting an unarmed man in an Arizona hotel after the man sobbed and pleaded with officers not to shoot him.
The graphic video, which was released after a jury on Thursday acquitted the officer of murder and manslaughter charges, stoked outrage on social media and renewed calls for reforms in law enforcement.

I don’t understand why the command of “crawl towards me” was given. It seems like an odd command. To crawl, ones arms/hands are low; thus, they aren’t as visible as other commands. I have to wonder if the command of “lie flat on the ground with your arms extended and don’t move” would have been better?
If I wanted to shoot a cop.... One thing I might do is act like I didn’t want him to shoot me and cry and then reach quickly for my waistband.
That’s utterly stupid. Pulling up one’s underwear is not a capital offense.
This cop was looking for a reason to kill.
I have a few law enforcement friends in my county and state police. One of the MAJOR things they learn in rookie school is how felony stop commands can become a nightmare if the verbal commands aren’t clear (and to be honest simple). For example, they had an instructor act out the command of the rookie.. to a T. From my understanding, it became hilarious because one command would be “raise your arms to the sky” and the next would be “show me your hands”. Thus, a contradiction. They then were trained to keep it simple and focus on the end result: being that the suspect was cuffed ASAP and disabling his or her ability to reach into (or appear to reach into) a shoe, belt, etc... The easiest command in this situation would have been to reach for the sky, keep reaching and get on your knees, keep arms reaching and lie flat. The person’s arm would have been in view.

Look at him crosswise first ...
Well, considering the shooter had Youre fked carved into the dust case of the rifle he used to shoot Shriver, I suspect youre right.

Come on. Did you watch the video? The thug cop murdered Shaver in cold blood.
That is what murder looks like.
Reason #1,832 to avoid police.
Cops often give conflicting orders often at Level 10 intensity and at the top of their lungs.
My thought is, lay on the floor face down with hands extended wall above your head palms up and don’t move until you’re cuffed.
We did this. By allowing police extra rights that every other citizen doesn’t possess. The only important thing is that the officer went home to his family at the end of the day. (No matter how many citizens he murdered to get there.)
Didnt the police department fired both the shooter and the officer giving the commands?
Sad situation. The shooting victim appears to be cooperating to the best of his ability, IMO. He was clearly terrified and distraught, and given the officers confusing demands, Im not surprised he messed up.
If he's smart, he'll join the TSA.
This time the police came to him, thanks to some idiot citizen who saw him with a scary air rifle.
And lie flat on the ground (which clearly showed you had NO guns in your back waistband) so he can cuff you? Seriously? The retarded psycho ("cop") who murdered him had ample opportunity to cuff him, as did the pussies who filled the hallway with him.
This is the result of the militarization of American police, coupled with lowered standards. There's a Costco where an employee serving cheese samples who held a 2.5" cheese knife up at a female police officer. She refused to put it down, but did not approach her. She was shot dead at 12 feet. Insanity.
