Artificial fire suppression will not stop giant fires. The cases where controlled burns got out of control are vastly outnumbered by those that did not. The question is whether we can stop giant wildfires in boom/bust areas like California and other parts of the West. The answer is no.
Probably not, but I like that Russian turbofan fire bomber, currently assisting us. It can drop 12 tons of water inside of a second, refill in a flash. CA should buy 100 of them. Better yet, Boeing should build a knockoff version, in South Carolina.
