Matt McGorry is calling on good men to step up in the wake of the sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein. The 31-year-old actor published an essay on Medium on Monday detailing the different ways toxic masculinity and rape culture allow for predators like Weinstein to stay hidden for so long. Weinstein has been accused by over 40 women of sexual harassment, sexual abuse and/or rape. ÂAs men, we constantly receive explicit and implicit messages from our culture about what it means to be a man. We must be dominant; our value is measured by our ability to have power over othersâ â especially women, McGorry wrote. Â... By consciously or unconsciously believing that sexual conquests are evidence of our Âmanliness and heterosexuality, we reinforce the ignorant notion that women exist on this earth for our pleasure... and we undoubtedly feel cheated when they resist being perceived and treated as such.Â

How about if I don’t share a single thought with you and continue to treat women as people. I don’t grab mens’ rear ends either.
This ain't rocket science...it's basic decency. And it applies to everyone regardless of masculine or feminine he/she/it might be.
I have been around a lot of masculine men in my life. I am sure that at least a few of them might be considered “toxic males,” but of the ones I know best —my grandfathers, father, uncles, cousins, sons, friends — none have acted like the trousered apes we have heard about lately. I haven’t either. It might have something to do with our being Christian gentlemen.
That’s why no woman has ever had reason to lodge any complaints regarding disrespectful...or criminal...behavior.
As soon as I saw “toxic masculinity” I stopped reading.

Good men are not to blame for the actions of bad men.
I look forward to an article about how Oprah enabled Weinstein.
Apparently, we are supposed to pre-emptively beat them up...or something.
??? At 5'5" & 128 lbs., I'd have to shoot 'em! Doesn't look good on your resume.
One hint: I've developed "the look;" used when I observe rough conduct. I think I developed it on my way to Navy Commander. Lets "bad boys" realize that I know what they're up to!
Dammit, I want my Sammich. Now!
Toxic masculinity is my gender identity.
Matt mcgorry, go make me a sandwich, then go sit in the corner and keep quiet.

You’re darn right. I’m tired of snowflakes melting around me and blaming me for their meltdowns.
Since 1999 I haven’t changed my tagline here. May I use your statement?
