Reaching for one’s waistband is never a good idea when dealing with the cops.
Generally speaking I agree but in this case it seems it was just an instinct since he clearly tried to comply with everything else the office ordered him to do. Playing Simon says at gunpoint is not easy and if you lose the penalty should certainly not be death.

Reaching for your waistband should not come with an automatic death sentence.

If cops are so damned dangerous that normal, harmless behavior will cause them to murder you then don’t mind me when more and more people view cops as a threat.
Can’t wait for the inevitable defense when someone shoots and kills a cop and says, “He was pointing a gun at me for no good reason and I was in fear for my life.”
I agree (reaching for the waist is not a good idea), that’s why the cop should have just cuffed them while they were on the ground, instead of putting anyone in further danger.
Never heard of such commands starting with ‘crossing legs with left foot over right’.
I didn’t think the video was real the first time I saw it because I didn’t think cops carried AR-15’s. But, apparently, he was authorized to use his personal firearm. Only, he had ‘You’re F#cked’ inscribed on the weapon. That inscription is what got him fired apparently.
