No. They don’t want him to win. They did in Franken and Conyers so that they could vote to unseat Moore if he wins. The question is why they did it now, rather than waiting to see if Moore actually won. I suspect they did it because they knew that Franken and Conyers would be replaced by liberal Democrats anyway. There may be some advantages to seniority for the new MN appointee, though I don’t know. Certainly, he would have an advantage over the Dem if Moore loses, but I don’t know if he’d have an advantage over Moore since he won’t be from the same party in any event.

Interesting chess strategery. All I know is the RNC has so many ready-made campaign videos for next year. Nanzi Pelosi telling Meet the Press “show me the accusers” then “oh wait, one of them called me, that’s different”. Gillibrand praising and hugging Clinton, then calling him a predator when it was convenient. Franken being praised as the swellest guy on earth and a champion for women. Just goes on and on...
