John Conyers' son -- the one he wants to replace him in Congress -- was arrested this year for felony domestic violence ... TMZ has learned.
John Conyers III got in a fight with his girlfriend on February 15, 2017. Law enforcement sources tell us he accused her of cheating after going through her computer at around 2 AM. The argument allegedly escalated into physical violence ... she told cops John body slammed her on her bed and on the floor, pinned her down and spit on her. She says she tried calling the cops, but he took her phone.
The woman claims he then chased her into her kitchen where she grabbed a 10-inch knife to protect herself, ordering him to leave the house.
She says he grabbed the knife and then swung at her twice, stabbing her, cutting her right bicep which required 3 stitches. She says he then chased her back into the bedroom, pinned her against the bed and slapped her.
They both called 911 and when cops came John claimed she pulled a knife on him and, when he grabbed it to protect himself, he accidentally stabbed her.

Nope. House members can only be chosen by the people, either in a general or special election. Most (not all) Senate vacancies can be chosen by the Governor.

They believe they own the seats they occupy and can designate their successors. Sadly, because most of his constituents are plantation slaves to the Democrat party, they can’t exercise some independence and vote Republican.

He is the most law abiding person in the district. It was an accident.
So the next time some Rino politicians mention “hands across the aisle”...someone needs to tell them that the hands of democrat Congress critters are quite likely to be extending either their junk or knives.

Conyers Jr (the resigning version) also has a great nephew stating he’ll run for the seat. He’s in the state legislature; I don’t know more about that offshoot. Jr can’t have his young wife take it because she got fed up and divorced him, AFTER she did time for fraud while serving on the Detroit city council. Wonderful dole models: all those on the low end of the dole dream of reaching their highly entitled end.
Wow! I read there was some familial infighting, with Conyer’s nephew (whom I think is a state rep or state senator) declaring he would run for the seat and oppose his cousin, Conyer’s son.
I wonder if the nephew dropped a dime on his cousin to push him out of the race.
Also wanted to say, that I hope the people of that district pick someone from a different family. These seats are not royal titles you can bequeath. Time for fresh blood with fresh ideas with no ties to the past.

The younger, Conyers, 27, would be a first-time political candidate. But has already been connected to an ethics issue, according to the Detroit Free Press. In 2010, the congressman had to reimburse the Treasury Department $5,682 for his son’s misuse of a taxpayer-funded Cadillac Escalade, the paper reports.
Conyers’s wife, Monica Conyers, was in 2010 sentenced to more than three years in prison for taking cash, as a Detroit council member, to support a Houston company’s sludge contract with the city.
