Ishmael Jones writes to revisit the infamous Trump Dossier. It is the Rosetta Stone to the collusion hysteria and related fake news with which we have been inundated since the 2016 election. Mr. Jones is the pseudonymous former CIA officer and author of The Human Factor: Inside the CIAs Dysfunctional Intelligence Culture. He advises that his comments here are based upon his knowledge of how intelligence reports are written and reviewed and adds that they have been approved by the CIA for publication. Mr. Jones writes:
The Trump Dossier, also known as the Russia Dossier or the Steele Dossier, is to any intelligence officer a shoddy, unprofessional piece of work. It is a fraud and a fabrication.
I assumed that the Dossiers obvious fraudulence would cause the story to collapse. Yet it remains the foundation document of the Russia collusion story and it shows a certain genius. As the Mueller investigation continues, the Dossier may prove one of the most effective tools of political assassination in American history.

The Dossier is like a bump stock. A bump stock is a device which is attached to a rifle to create automatic fire. A bump stock produces shoddy, inaccurate fire; it is a cheap device that is not used by any military or police department, and would never make it through any institutional purchasing review. It cannot compete with military automatic fire mechanisms. It is no joke, however. It is designed to evade regulations, and as such it proved to be a highly effective device in the Las Vegas murders, the largest mass murder in modern American history.
Like a bump stock, the Dossier would never have made it through professional review. American intelligence officers are not allowed to report on US persons, defined as citizens plus green card holders and organizations formed in the US. Every intelligence officer learns this in initial training and it becomes instinctive.
The Dossier cleverly evades this point by outsourcing; its provenance is ostensibly British. A foreign intelligence officer or contractor can report dirt on an American if he wishes.
Intelligence officers can instinctively detect foreign intelligence fabricators. But at the top of our agencies are lifetime Washington, DC bureaucrats who have never met with an intelligence fabricator in an alleyway in a foreign country and have not developed this instinct.
The Dossier never would have made its way through American intelligence channels. The promoters of the Dossier wisely evaded these channels and took it right to the top, peddling it directly to deep state Trump opponents such as James Comey and John Brennan and political opponents such as John McCain.
These were powerful advocates. They breathed life into the Dossier, which kicked off the Russia collusion story and subsequent attacks upon the Trump Administration.
Both intelligence officers and journalists seek to report the truth. But theres a clever way around this that the Dossier promoters figured out. The fact that the Moon is made of cheese cannot be reported in journalistic or intelligence channels because it cannot be verified. But if Comey, Brennan, and McCain believe the Moon is made of cheese, it becomes a real story. The underlying fact does not need to be proven because the story is about the beliefs of these powerful people.
From this perspective, Buzzfeed may have done the right thing in reporting on January 11, 2017 that the Dossier was a document being circulated in Washington by powerful players. CNN, by contrast, crossed a line on the same day when it strongly suggested that the Dossier was in fact true.
I owe a professional tip of the hat to Hillary, if indeed she is the financier behind the Dossier. Excellent work. Like the bump stock, the Dossier itself is crude and shoddy, yet it may prove to be one of the most effective tools of political assassination ever devised.
Realize that if Hillary and her Marxists had been elected none of this would have ever surfaced.
This is criminality of the first order and needs to be exposed down to the lowest level paper pushers that helped it along.
How can we tolerate the FBI being complicit in destroying evidence (laptops and hard drives) yet fail to collect evidence (like the DNC server), then have the author of the dossier on the FBI payroll while he was also collecting fees from Hillary and the DNC, then use the fictional dossier as a launching pad for running to the FISA Court to spy on Hilarys opponent using the fictional dossier as gospel? Not even perverse Hollywood could come up with a script like this...
We anticipate that Trump and Sessions will bring down the house around the ears of the swamp critters. Our patience is as long as our willingness to believe in Trump. That belief is not limitless.
I’m interested in the moneys paid. Supposedly 6 million, or 9 million, or 12 million paid for the document, which could be written in a couple of hours.
Apparently, (apparently), Steele received $168,000 for writing the report... or at least for signing it. Who knows who wrote it actually. So where did the money really go? It smells like money laundering to me.
Supposedly his sources were Russian, but in actual fact no Russian source is needed if it is fraudulent.
Fusion GPS is receiving millions from the Republicans, the DNC, and the Clintons, and simultaneously being paid by the Russians, so money is flowing in from all directions, but where does it wind up? The Russian lawyer that met with Trump Jr was working for Fusion.
In the modern era, espionage is conducted in a very hyper-legal way, and completely out in the open.
I’ll bet some from the Hillary camp helped write it, and suggested edits. If so, they need to be hung for sedition.
Has anyone asked Steele if someone in the US helped edit the Disinformation Dossier?
And... they would have continued their little charade.
Effective? Perhaps. Using it to secure FISA warrants against an opponent’s presidential campaign. Illegal.
And thus the conspiracy on behalf of the Deep State, the democrats in Washington and the media to overthrow a duly elected president...
GOP preps contempt resolution for top FBI, DOJ officials after missed Monday deadline
The Steele Dossier, is to any intelligence officer a shoddy, unprofessional piece of work. You do not have to be an intelligence officer to see that these memos are nonsense. The Dossier would never have made it through professional review. It creator designed it that way. Yet it remains the foundation document of the Russia collusion story. That was all they had. It was used to justify going to the FISA Court to spy on Trump. Both intelligence officers and journalists DO NOT seek to report the truth.
Intelligence officers can instinctively detect foreign intelligence fabricators. But at the top of our agencies are lifetime Washington, DC bureaucrats who have never met with an intelligence fabricator in an alleyway in a foreign country and have not developed this instinct.
Is it believable that Brennan and Comey and McCain would not recognize that the Dossier was fake? I dont think so. It was politics plain and simple.
The Disinformation Dossier is starting to look like espionage. With the goal of sedition.
I believe there was a school bombing in, I think, Michigan a century or so ago, that killed a heap more than that.
I believe Mueller's "investigations" will be the vehicle for that. I think Mueller is in the driver's seat but it is a modern automobile with electronic controls and though he sits in the appropriate position and uses the blinkers a lot, he is not in control and does not yet know where he is going.
So what good is a “contempt resolution” when it is ignored and no one goes to jail?
Starting to? Some conservative commentators called that when it “surfaced.”
Peter Strzok was the guy who commissioned the creation of the TRUMP DOSSIER with the British agent.
