The head of FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) fired back at President Trump’s comments against the bureau on Sunday, saying any suggestion that agents aren’t dedicated to their jobs “is simply false.”
“Every day, FBI Special Agents put their lives on the line to protect the American public from national security and criminal threats. Agents perform these duties with unwavering integrity and professionalism and a focus on complying with the law and the Constitution,” FBIAA head Thomas O’Connor said in a statement.
”This is why the FBI continues to be the premier law enforcement agency in the world. FBI Agents are dedicated to their mission; suggesting otherwise is simply false.”
Trump tweeted earlier Sunday that the FBI’s reputation was in “tatters” after being lead by former FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump fired in May.
“After years of Comey, with the phony and dishonest Clinton investigation (and more), running the FBI, its reputation is in Tatters - worst in History! But fear not, we will bring it back to greatness,” Trump tweeted.
Obama Attorney General Eric Holder also hit back at Trump’s comments earlier Sunday.
“Nope. Not letting this go. The FBI’s reputation is not in ‘tatters,’” Holder tweeted. “It’s composed of the same dedicated men and women who have always worked there and who do a great, apolitical job.”
“You’ll find integrity and honesty at FBI headquarters and not at 1600 Penn Ave right now.”
Trump made the comments after a report that special counsel Robert Mueller removed an FBI agent from his team for potentially making anti-Trump remarks.
Mueller was appointed as special counsel after Trump fired Comey.

Sounds like Trump was attacking the leadership to me.
The issue is, as you said, “the leadership” of the FBI is as corrupt as can be.” I’ll add “incompetent”.
This includes the leadership of Louis Freeh (he blew the 9/11 Hijacker warnings from his agents re his middlemen cut off crucial information about “one-way flight training” by the Saudi hijackers; Comey - now we know what a screw-up he was, esp. re the Clinton email investigation; and Mueller - don’t think he’s as good as his projected image says. In fact, he might be the worst of all of them in his new roll as the “Emperor’s High Executioner”.
Say what you want about J. Edgar Hoover, but he ran a tight ship (OK he could be a Capt. Bligh, but there was no 9/11 on his watch), his agents were dedicated in their jobs (with only a couple leftist defectors (think it was Fred Cook, someone named Tuller, and later Rochon).
Look up the incredible job that the FBI did on the Venona intercepts (Lamphere); Operation Solo - my old acquaintance Ray Wannell; the wrap-up of the KKK in the mid-60’s (See the movie “Mississippi Burning”) and the Rosenberg-Greenglass spy rings.
While Hoover wasn’t perfect, he didn’t fool around with the nation’s security (some more on this will probably be released in another 25 years).
Do I have faith in the individual FBI agent today? Yes. Do I have faith in the Obama political hack FBI leaders - NO!
I hope Mr. Wray cleans house with dynamite. It is badly infected with Obamite roaches and rats.

They obviously are dedicated to many things: being political, dishonesty, incompetence, cashing their paychecks and (eventually) collecting their pensions.
I have found that most gub mint employees look at the calender and clock and continually stare at it until they retire.
That is so true. I call on city municipal water and wastewater plants. It seems that 70% of them can tell you their time left to retirement down to the number of days.
I’ve never understood that. If you dislike your job that much why not find something different.
