"Our buildings were built over the abandoned Nike Missile silos up in Bollinger Canyon."

NIKE was not launched from a silo.

Oh yes they were. the silos were low horizontal concrete bunkers with a pair of swing-down doors, and a horizontal erector mounted on an elevator. The missiles were stored horizontally on either side of the erector/elevator. We poured concrete on the elevator deck and used it to finish out the floor of the bottom of the silo. When our contractor put a dump truck on the elevator and ran it down to be loaded with construction debris, the elevator didn't have the power to raise the concrete and the truck and we had to get a crane to pull the truck out of the hole. The company built single-story buildings that covered the launcher doors, they were locked in the closed position and covered up with two of the three silos.
The also had launch control rooms that were accessible from a ladder from the surface or from a labyrinth that was connected to the main silo area. Somewhere I have pics of the site I took from the air. Take a look at these photos: https://www.google.com/search?q=Photos+of+NIke+Missile+silos&client=safari&rls=en&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=4rY1fovT4q6_tM%253A%252C1OULXl15ByuE6M%252C_&usg=__XVH_zC3U_Jd0VRxRjO-YWcAKgN4%3D&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjHnay4ve_XAhXo54MKHTbVCEUQ9QEINTAG#imgrc=mRQrITD3jZ4OXM:
