Grassley has been a huge disappointment because we expected better of him. But it’s not all on him. Voters have too reliably put the incumbents back in, one cycle after another. It breeds arrogance.
For a short time after Cantor’s defeat the swamp paid attention to the constituents. If we could just kick a few more big names to the curb, the rest would shape up.
