I don’t believe “Mueller is in Trump’s pocket”, whatever that means. I assume Mueller is no friend of Trump and would love to bring him down if he could.

What I believe is that Mueller has nothing that can hurt Trump, and Trump knows it because he has nothing to hide.

If Trump takes steps to resist Mueller’s investigation, he will only feed theories that he has something to hide. So, letting him continue to investigate has no downside and the possibility of upside.

I agree it’s a long shot, but there are so many corrupt leftists that when Mueller sifts through the data, conversations, records, databases, hoping to find something on Trump, it’s actually a target rich environment for exposing leftists.

Look at the sex scandal thing - they start out going after Republicans, and wind up exposing Democrats - because there are so many leftist perverts.

So no, I don’t buy any “wild unsubstantiated theories” that Mueller is working on Trump’s behalf. But yes, I think it’s more likely Mueller uncovers something on Democrats than on Trump.

Every time I make that argument, there are a couple of FReepers who come back with that straw man argument about how dumb I am for thinking Trump and Mueller are secretly best buddies - I never said I thought that.

I’m just not worried about Mueller - I think Trump has the situation under control.
