I think the biggest difference between you and me is that I have a strong gut feeling that Trump is relatively innocent, making him a very small target when compared to the target rich environment of widespread and longstanding Democrat corruption.

This means that I think Mueller and team, regardless of what they may wish to happen, will constantly be presented with the same conflict: “If we follow this lead, hoping to find something on Trump, we open this can of worms, exposing more Democrats.”

I get the sense that you have a different assumption - that there is plenty to find in Trump’s dealings for Mueller to gin up into a case for impeachment.

Look, I don’t know which is true. I’ve been wrong before. I am going with my gut on this. However, there was another time in politics when I had this same feeling - during the Reagan years... I just felt we were on the right side and that with RR, I could trust him

I feel that way with Trump. I hope I turn out to have been right.

I think all Mueller’s digging will fail to damage Trump because there’s nothing to find. Regarding the crimes and coverups of the Clintons and Obama administration, I think if Mueller et al keep sniffing around top Democrats will suddenly start calling for the investigation to end out of fear that it’s leading back to them.

Then, either Trump will graciously agree to drop it and bury the hatchet, or he’ll come back with a vengeance and take no prisoners.

Part of me hopes its the latter - I want the Clintons to face justice and I want to stomp the fake news into the ground, - but maybe the former would be better for the country.

Short response since I am visiting family today...

I believe in Trump too, but he is in the crosshairs of many powerful people. And there is no indication of anyone in power actually targeting Clinton or her deep state supporters right now.

There is no overlap between Clinton and Trump investigations, so Mueller has a clear firing range. Thinking his hands are tied over concern for Clinton for any reason appears to be wishful thinking.

I appreciate your honest posts, but they appear to be wishful thinking and based primarily on desire, not fact. However at this point there are more than enough actual pieces of the puzzle to speak with more certainly about where we actually are now, and where it appears to be going.
