This thread shouldn't be allowed to attrit. Surely there's more than 500 FReepers out there who need to vent here, since there's little else we can do as things stand now. It's clear the ROL has been turned on its head.

I don't buy the "It's California" excuse. No. It's "America" because this kind of thing is happening in many places and in many ways, some small some large. Illegals ARE getting away with murder, literally and figuratively, in every small town and community in the U.S. Not just in California.

Just take "benefit fraud" as a small example. And employers refusing to use e-Verify. I'm 3,000 miles away from SF but I feel like this verdict happened in my own back yard. Distance is relative. Outrage is not. Same as the feeling on 9/11. It happened 1,800 miles away from me but I got hit right in the gut.

Maybe JRob can set up a section on FR for threads like this one to let them keep accruing replies. Sort of as a thorn in the side of the left. And as a memorial to Kate Steinle. Like "Never Forget".
