Either that or he's afraid the feds will plant guns, drugs, child porn or whatever in his residence during one of the mandatory "home confinement" searches, then bust him for violating the terms of his home confinement and be able to keep him locked up even if he's acquitted of all these charges.
Simpler explanation is that he doesn’t want to sleep in his own bed while his friends rot in jail.
