So the top broadcast news journalist who raked the former top cable news journalist over sexual harassment has now been fired for sexual harassment. You cant make this stuff up. Matt Lauers canned. As I write these words there is only a report from Variety that describes his alleged indiscretions, but one thing is for certain: NBC would not have fired their top star were this not an impeachable offense.
Theyre dropping like bowling pins all over Hollywood, in sports, in politics and in journalism. Every day someone new is guilty of sexual harassment. While the deed is being reported, what is being swept under the rug is the raging hypocrisy.
There is no better example of the cynical mind at work than evidenced by these questions from Lauer to Bill OReilly during their Today Show interview on September 19.
He wanted OReilly to know what a lout he was: [OReillys accusers] came forward and filed complaints against the biggest star at the network they worked at. Think of how intimidating that must have been, how nerve-racking that must have been! Doesnt that tell you how strongly they felt about the way they were treated by you?

The LIEberal media for decades has shoved sexual immorality unabashedly into our faces and now they want to expunge many of their purveyors of it as a holy PC sacrament of their awakened duty.
Oh the irony...
I really want to know how David Letterman gets a pass on this. He admitted to chasing young interns around the office and office sex when he caught them.
Now you know why liberal sportswriters have wanted fighting in the NHL banned. Because they are on the same level as the cheap shot artists who would thrive as they do in US NCAA and Europe.
Probably because David is retired, has apologized and even had the extortion charges taken up in court. Al Franken was cut from his tribute, however...
My cynicism wants me to believe the whole purpose behind this purity act is to make just an accusation the new standard that action must be taken. No more innocent until proven guilty in a court of law thoughts to be allowed.
The new established default after many, many firings and lectures is that the accusation must be believed.
This will continue until they spring this newly created trap on President Donald Trump to take him out before he is reelected for another term. They will create accusations out of nothing that must be believed.
It will not work.
Nobody wants to pick up the tab for all the kerosene needed to delouse his beard?
That story broke back in 2009. Old news.
And either he left the women very satisfied or they're ashamed to admit that they had anything to do with this guy:
Plus, it looks like most of them were all too willing.
They didn't find Letterman repulsive (back then anyway) the way Weinstein's or Rose's or Keillor's victims did.
Letterman apologized. But we have learned that he basically spent 30 years chasing interns and junior writers around his desk and kept a couch in his office for sex which was used several times. He was as bad as any of them. I know he is not working. But the fact that he gets paid to run around and collect awards at charities and award shows is disturbing.
I believe what you’ve stated is the ‘why’ of what’s going on.
They may not have intended it to go this far, but they did want to be able to say, “we went after our own.”
But they’ll need the surprise element to pull it off, so Rush, Hannity, everyone with a soapbox needs to be driving this point.
These guys did what they did, time after time, because they were confident in their belief that they were too important not to be protected. Too big to fail.
This will continue until they spring this newly created trap on President Donald Trump to take him out before he is reelected for another term.
I think President Donald Trump should be treated the same as past Presidents accused of the same thing.
The Left should feel free to disavow him 17 years after he is out of office, oh about 2041.
Eat it Libs!
Take a look at The Week's Harvey Weinstein cover:
Weinstein, O'Reilly, and Trump in identical bathrobes.
But the story's run away from those who want to control it.
Eventually they'll catch up with it and use it against Trump, but I doubt Rose, Keillor, and Lauer all went down because of some master plan against Trump.
Some of it has to do with timing and some with plans to take out some of the dead wood in the media.
Good timing.
****But theyll need the surprise element to pull it off, so Rush, Hannity, everyone with a soapbox needs to be driving this point.****
Yes, if we let them know that we are so onto their dirty tricks they may abandon the plan.
It would be perfect to wait until they are just about out of leftist fodder then have Sean, Rusn and others let them know that we know.
*****Eventually they’ll catch up with it and use it against Trump, but I doubt Rose, Keillor, and Lauer all went down because of some master plan against Trump*****
I often wonder if the Lauer’s of the world are really taken down, or just used in a different way.
Brent if you are scanning this thread -- which I know you do -- stop trying to replace George Will as the chief dung beetle of the Establishment boo-hoos...
“Some of it has to do with timing and some with plans to take out some of the dead wood in the media.”
And maybe some of the old wood in D.C., replacing them with women (more women in Congress and Senate means an end to sexual harassment charges, no more misogyny, you see).
