Looking at this realistically the choices are very limited, especially a military option.
Any conventional attack will unleash hundreds of thousands of NK bombs, rockets and missiles on Seoul. This leaves little choice but to preempt the next launch with our own nuke launch that takes out the entire NK front line of operation. If they cannot successfully attack Seoul, they are finished.
The other option is accepting the next NK threat as real. Now that they can hit the US with a nuke, the message back to NK is, “if you launch, we will shoot down your missile and counter with one of our own, which by the way is accurate within 15 feet.” This is a game of chicken you probably do not want to play with Trump in the White House.
The last option is a preemptive strike to take out command and control and hopefully get Kim and his generals in the strike. Follow it up with VOA overriding NK media and getting the message out that Kim and his henchmen are dead.
Politically, the second option is the most viable since it places the onus directly on NK.
However there is ths
