Why don’t you try some historical context and basic demographics? Mr. Moore served in the military (including Vietnam), came home and went to lawschool, eating up his twenties.
By the time he hit the dating market in 1977 Alabama, fully 2/3’s of women in their 20’s were married. So the 16-19 year old bracket would have been the most plentiful and obvious group of single eligible females for courtship.
That is a rather specious argument at best.
