Consider also the computer driving the oncoming vehicle will also be making a decision at the same time. What if its programming has a different set of priorities?


The 40,000 lb self-driving Tesla Semi has orders to get the cargo delivered as rapidly as possible and at all costs ... was that a speed bump or one of those tiny self-driving vehicles? Doesn’t matter - just get it delivered.

Yes, different set of priorities. Do some vendors get more defensive algorithms? At a cost? Do some people get to override the algorithms? Can priorities be altered by law enforcement, emergency vehicles? How is liability established? How about hackers?

Who determines if one life is worth more than another?
