Given how the district is one of the most heavily Democrat CDs in the state (heck, in the country), probably the best you could hope for there is that this Richard Gonzalez somehow wins the RAT primary, which is tantamount to winning the general. If he’s a conservative (or at least a moderate) running as a Democrat because it would be futile to run as anything else in that district, it would behoove Republicans in the district to register as Democrats and vote for Gonzalez. Then again, if they did so they wouldn’t be able to vote on the GOP gubernatorial primary, so there woukd be a trade-off.
Richard’s facebook profile states, “Political views: Center.” In Illinois, no one chooses a party, when they register to vote. Maybe, some Republicans should request democrat ballots, during the primary. Then, they could vote for the democrat governor candidate who would be weakest in Nov.
