It's Aztec. Mel Gibson's Apocalypto is a very accurate portrayal of what the Aztecs were up to.
Some of the imports sneaking over the border still speak Nahuatl and not spanish- that's the old Aztec tongue. And that's not the only quaint Aztec custom they keep alive.
