I well remember that, too. However, that was in the 1990’s.

As they say, you’ve come a long way Baby!

Some of that older gear isn’t being used. Of course, neither is the Internet per say, but their own global networks using TCP/IP technologies and encryption done by computers, not gear.

Sheesh.

I go all the way back to Kw-26s and KW-7s. Even the Verdin system.

The KG-83/84/85 were just coming online for “high speed bulk encryption”. That was the fancy stuff at the time.
