Being a member of the Trump administration can have its advantages. Once a nominee survives walking on hot coals in their bare feet during the Senate confirmation hearings they can usually slip into a life of relative obscurity, untroubled by packs of hostile Opposition Media operatives, as President Trump lays down a covering barrage from his Twitter account. In contrast with White House officials who can be shown the door for reasons varying from giving an obscene interview to the media, being praised too highly by the media, trying too hard to implement the Trump agenda, or incurring the wrath of swamp creatures who were supposed to be on the way out. Cabinet posts are relatively secure, unless a cabinet secretary equates calling a military jet with calling Uber.
United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has been using her time wisely to begin the process of repudiating the incompetent, submissive foreign policy of Barack Obama. During the Obama years a strong United States foreign policy was practically treated as a crime against humanity. When in truth the foreigners first policy of Obama was a crime against the citizens of the U.S.
In a how shall I put this? standard presidential administration repudiation of the Opposition Medias all-time hero would be viewed as a sneak attack on everything that the best and brightest brought us. Haley would be subject to unrelenting assault from all quarters. That hasnt been the case because the OpMedia is busy elsewhere chasing tweets.
Haley has used her opportunity wisely. RedState has perfect example. Every year the trough-dwellers in the UN bring up a resolution condemning the United States for its economic and financial embargo on Cuba. Its Marxist Policy Theatre. Communist sympathizers bring up the resolution and the U.S. votes against it.
Until last year.

I’d rather, in a more perfect world, she doing her job somewhere else in the world. The UN has become an assembly of Swiftian Yahoos and Flappers and would be better for us being located elsewhere.
As for Ambassador Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, I regard her as a worthwhile successor to some of our great previous US Ambassadors; Adlai Stevenson II, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Jeane Kirkpatrick & John R. Bolton.
Other than stepping into it over the confederate flag.. Haley has been great. She has really shown promise. I just can’t trust her with a more important position than she already has.
Haley said some words in a speech about a Cuba resolution that has no practical effect, and it had no effect last year either. Sorry but I do not get why this matters. What am I missing?
The US has a trade embargo in place against Cuba. Every time the Security Council votes to condemn the US for it the US and Israel are the only countries that vote against condemning the UD for it. As part of his policy of apologizing for the horrible actions of the US the Obama administration abstained from voting, very popular with fellow America haters. Haley once again voted no, reversing the Obama position of America as an evil empire. It’s symbolic since nobody can do anything about it anyway but it signals that America once again sympathizes with the Cuban people rather than the dictatorship that oppresses them.
I can’t stand Haley. She comes off, IMHO, as an insincere, provocative grand stander.
I couldn’t stand her RINO azz as Gov of SC but it looks like Trump has turned her around.
