From my own reading, I always thought the friendship would be considered atypical for men in our own day and age, but by customs of that time, probably not.
The only people who have used that friendship with Jonathan angle to suggest that David was homo is the homo’s, trying to justify their sin.
Anyways, it wasn’t clear that you didn’t subscribe to it.
