For decades, a Berkeley elementary school has carried the name of a prominent conservationist and co-founder of the Sierra Club. But the 19th century geologist, Joseph LeConte, also was a slave owner and munitions supplier to the Confederacy during the Civil War, and parents wanted his name off their childrens school.

If you live in Orinda, I would not necessarily say you escaped. Our current State Senator, Steve Glazer is a bearded RAT a$$hole who moved to the legislature from being mayor of Orinda. Typical RAT, bald, scraggly beard, round glasses. Stuff a banana in his mouth and you have the picture of a baboon taking a crap.
Then they need to remove Oak Island of the tube, it was owned by a Black former Slave.
I grew up in the El Toyonal area. Graduated Miramonte HS, went on the Cal, got a degree in Mechanical Enginneering.
Then escaped to San Jose worked in Silicon Valley for 35 years and did well. Retired to Auburn CA in the heart of the State of Jefferson. Happy up here in the Gold Country, good people, plenty to do, staying fit.
The US government school system is a series of propaganda morality plays for morons.
