Do you think it’s possible for a man to know a woman so well that he can pick a virtuous woman who won’t cheat on him or divorce him for petty reasons?
Do you think people change over time and that the man or woman you marry today, could be vastly different in the future?
As for rush being divorced a bunch of times don’t knock him for it. He’s seen the worst of female nature up close and personal. Aren’t the rumors of this latest wife such that she’s cheating on him?
This is a blind spot for a lot of traditional and conservative people.
Cheating doesn't have as much to do with virtue as it does with some level of interest x opportunity x calculated chances of not being discovered x calculated chances of successfully being forgiven if discovered.
It doesn't begin and and with virtue. Perfectly virtuous people can run that calculation in a situation and make very poor decisions.
This is distinct from serial cheaters, or course.

The woman whom he was married to, when he became national, and they moved to NYC, had a REALLY good reason to divorce him and I bet you don't know what that was; but I do.
Instead of going to the great restaurants, museums, theatre ( and yes, Broadway was still producing great shows back then ! ), and even just the extremely fascinating historical sites that that city has, Rush refused to do ANYTHING at all! He just sat there, in their apartment, glued to his computer, ignoring her. Oh sure, the better he did, the more famous he became, and the more money he made, he moved up ( got angry at the decorator they had engaged, because he hadn't gotten a handle on things NYC back then ) but that marriage wasn't a marriage at all.
Yes, over the years, people do change...they're supposed to grow closer; not farther apart, over the years!
And as far as Rush is concerned, his wives have seen the WORST of "male nature" !
And yes, you should be able to "judge" how that relationship will be through the years, unless something horrible happens that changes one or both parties.
Sadly, many people marry for the wrong reason/s, do NOT truly know the person they do marry, and/or don't take marriage seriously anymore and believe that it's something out of a movie/fairy tale/book, that doesn't take any kind of work.
