My back-of-the-envelope psychoanalysis of Pizzagate and other similar scandals:

People who accumulate huge amounts of money do so because they really like money. They will make whatever sacrifices and do anything they have to do because the pleasure they derive from money makes it all worth it.

People who jump off cliffs and race cars do so because they really like danger. They are willing to take the risks and even kill themselves, because the pleasure they derive from danger makes it all worth it.

People who accumulate tremendous power do so because they really like power. They like being able to command whatever they want, dominate whomever they want, and to have anything in the world for the asking. These people tend to become Presidents, movie moguls, college football coaches, or similar things.

The pleasure comes from having gaining things because of their power. They enjoy having the strength to get things that other men can not. It is the elevation of themselves that they find psychologically rewarding.

But what is a person who derives pleasure from power to do when he has achieved everything he desires? How can he dominate when he has an army of flunkies whose job it is, 24/7, to simply give him whatever he desires? There is no challenge in that. There is no pleasure in that.

To the ultimately powerful, the usual vices are commonplace. Booze, fast cars, loose women and drugs are there without even having to ask. Screwing all the women who throw themselves at your feet winds up being a bit of a chore.

So, what is the powerful man to do? What can he ask for that he can’t have easily. What is the forbidden fruit for the man who is forbidden nothing?

What is the one thing that a apex power type man can ask for that will have his flunkies saying, "Gee, I dunno boss... That's a lot to ask..."

After every other vice has been thoroughly explored and exhausted, what is the one thing that all decent people hold to be inviolate and forbidden?

It is the children. Even in the most desperate times, at our lowest ebb, we always protect the children.

So this is where the extremely powerful person goes to ask for something that cannot be asked. This is the lure.

And that is how you get Sandusky. That is how you get Spacey. And that is how you get Pizzagate.

Spot on analysis, Haiku Guy.

I think there are far more of the pols in DC engaged in pedo and sex trafficking than we have the stomach for handling.

But these horrible creatures must be exposed and brought to justice.

We can always get new politicians.
