In the ‘80s, we bought 2.5 treed acres to build a home. When the necessary portion of the land was cleared for the building site, it opened up a stunning view of mountains — breathtaking, really. (A mountain range in Alaska.) We hadn’t even known that when we bought the property.

Anyhow, the people across the street liked the new view so much that they got a lawyer and tried to get a Restraining Order to keep US from building OUR house on OUR land. They didn’t want their mountain view blocked.

Nothing came of it; they had no case. Still, it’s hard to believe neighbors can be so insane at times.

Wow, your story and Paul’s, too, make me very happy with my current neighbors! I’ve had my share of jerk neighbors along the way, but never have I had one that sued me. (Truth be told, I’m surprised that one neighbor in particular DIDN’T sue us! They were constantly confrontational.)
