Some weeks ago, former President George W. Bush delivered a speech attacking the incumbent president, Donald Trump, and his supporters. That was the unmistakable thrust of Mr. Bushs remarks, in the apprehension of virtually everyone, even though he chose not to mention President Trump by name. The address consisted largely of elliptical references to sins committed against democracy, with the guilty parties left unidentified. But all of the sins referenced -- bigotry, white supremacism, nativism, protectionism, isolationism, casual cruelty, Russian interference in the last election -- sounded like liberal talking points. This address, given at an assemblage entitled Spirit of Liberty: At Home, In the World in New York City, was not criticism of the Democrats.
The former President, of course, has grounds for personal animosity against Trump. As a candidate, Mr. Trump attacked the Bush Administration and, in particular, the Iraq War. He was not kind to Jeb Bush when they were competing for the Republican nomination. And yet, President Bushs two current friends, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, denigrated him often enough. And their supporters in Congress, the press, Hollywood, and everywhere else reviled him. More significantly, this is about the future of the American people, not the personal pique of the famous and powerful.
For those of us who venerate President Bushs leadership in the months after September 11, there is no pleasure in taking exception to what he chooses to say now. The former President, of course, is perfectly free to denigrate the present Republican Administration, having uttered not a word against his Democratic predecessor or successor, whose company he now keeps with manifest cordiality. Mr. Bush apparently deems uplifting the sight of him associating with such men as Bill Clinton and Barack Obama,

I meant to say sending them both money. You are right, a vote was necessary but I now know never send money to the GOPe.
W is about as dumb as they come. Reminds me of the movie "Tommy Boy", where W plays Tommy. He was nothing more that Rove's puppet.
Thank God America wised up before Jeb! arrived on the scene. Hard to imagine someone as dumb as W, but the Bush family came through.
Future Bushes: Keep them out of politics at any cost.
Asshole
Ed
This was exactly the conclusion in real time from those who understood the insidious, malignant, uniparty nature of the GOPe.
The prescient souls who are no longer with us would rejoice to see our day of its inevitable collapse.
George W. Bush was AFRAID to criticize Obama because Obama is black....and he did not want to be acused of being a racist....
and W. Bush as a president was always humiliated, they made him a clown.. they insulted him and his daughters and he never defended himself or defended his daughters ....
W.Bush is a weak man....
Now ...... he is jealous of our president Trump...
BECAUSE DONALD TRUMP IS STRONG... HE IS NOT AFRAID TO DEFENND HIMSELF AND HIS FAMILY....
So.... W. Bush’s opinion about Donald Trump is not important... he is a weak and a clown.... a cheap clown!!!
I’ve lost a lot of naivety over the years since 9/11/01 and gained some wisdom.
For example, I now expect to be disappointed at times by someone that I support.
It stops me from being ‘really’ disappointed.
Never. But obumbler was in the elitist club so I never expected any criticism no matter how much he trashed Bush.
Trump bashed Bush, based the elites and the clusterf*&C* of a global order Bush and his effete snobs created and that is failing across the board and he trashed worst of all, Little Jebbie in the 16 presidential campagin and that cannot be tolerated and presidential decorum went out the window with GWB. I lost all respect for him when he went after me as a voter and supporter of Trump, piss on his arrogant a$$!
The Bush’s are owned by big oil and big business. Open borders and free trade baby.
