Had a young couple that I liked that lived next door to me for 16 years. They had a new baby boy and subsequently his younger brother came along. They were very nice people. Their children would come over and help me wash my car, dig weeds and shovel snow. They knew that our friendship made them the only children in the neighborhood that were allowed to play in my yard.

Five years ago, Mr. Inspectorette suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. I was waiting outside the CCU, obviously distraught, when an African-American man who was with four or five middle-aged AA ladies approached me and asked if I was OK. I told him about Mr. Inspectorette, and he asked if I would like them to pray with me. I gratefully accepted and they wrapped me in prayer in love. I will never forget that moment.
I so wish race didn’t matter to anyone.
We all know it doesn’t matter to God. It’s awful we can’t live as He would have us live.
But brains deal with generalizations in absence of specific data... That’s my point. I think we agree.
When we don’t know an individual the tendency is to act upon one’s generalizations, especially when pushed for a decision by circumstances.

Ever think of following the example of thousands of black parents that don't project such pre-prejudice onto their children?
