CNN: Fox cancels Trump impeachment ads

Fox News has canceled ads purchased by Democratic mega-donor Tom Steyer that call for President Trump’s impeachment, CNN’s Brian Stelter confirmed Monday.

“Due to the strong negative reaction to their ad by our viewers, we could not in good conscience take their money,” Fox News told Stelter.

Steyer said Friday in a statement that Fox News informed him on Oct. 31 that it was refusing to air the ad entitled “Join Us.” Steyer said the decision “shows no respect for democracy.”

Steyer launched his $10 million “Need to Impeach” ad campaign in late October, drawing the ire of Trump, who called Steyer “wacky & totally unhinged.”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Sunday downplayed the idea that Democrats will seek to impeach Trump if they take back the House in next year's midterm elections.

I am sure a number of viewers are changing channels upon seeing Steyer’s demented ads. Tom Steyer does not seem normal - there is something strange about him.

It was easy money. There for the taking.

Inconsequential advertising by a loony billionaire.

Let him waste his money. It's redistribution of the wealth, from a rich-fat-cat, to a rich-fat-corporation; except that the corporation actually will not be wasting the money and will be paying salaries and taxes with it, and will help the corporation get bigger.

Take his money, FOX. People are not so stupid as to believe the impeachment ads would accomplish anything.

In a way, however, FOX is doing a good thing, because, FOX would be denying Steyer the biggest cable news audience around, and the ads might have to move to the lesser-viewed cable networks, such as Collusion News Network and Collusion News Network #2 (MSNBC, of course).

I found it incredible that Marshall Applewhite was able to talk apparently educated people into that nonsense.

I agree with you that Tom Steyer is more than just creepy but demented. When his "ad" appears on TV, my family and I switch to another station. It is so far over the top that FOX is right in dropping his ads.

Note to Pelosi:

You might wish to work out some BULK rates for moving vans for the 2018 elections.

You’re right that the article of impeachment has been created but not filed before the house. HR 438 is nothing more than an opinionated conjecture about what some people think and not what can be proved.

The final paragraph of the resolution states:

In all of this, Donald John Trump has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States. Wherefore, Donald John Trump, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office.

The wording of the entire resolution is here:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-resolution/438/text?format=txt

You’ll notice that they are using such opinions as Trump not admitting to anything, so they don’t have anything, and the termination of Comey which, supposedly, retarded the investigation. Stating the obvious that firing Comey for bad work was going to slow the investigation when another person needed to get on line with what had been done, is an imbecilic statement in the line of Chicken Little’s sky falling. Moronic.

You’re right, they have it. But with no real evidence of Trump doing anything and nothing more than opinions of what they could say Trump did. And it has nothing to do with his part in the only high crime and misdemeanor of changing the results or actions of a national election. And he has said nothing under oath, so anything he says doesn’t have to be treated.

They couldn’t get Clinton until he went under oath when they caught him lying and impeached him. But couldn’t get the 2/3 vote to remove.

In my opinion, just more of the stall and try to make the voters uncomfortable with the Trump administration by crating lib bolshelvic.

It is nasty. In it, he states that Trump is unstable. There’s no proof of that. Trump doesn’t even act unstable. This ad should never have been allowed to run in the first place.

You may be laying too much trust in the reasoning and IQ level of the American voter. The libs have smartened up over the last eight years and have learned that to get someone in their party elected, they can’t consider their candidate equal to the task. They have to brutally destroy the other guy with any real or lying statement the media can slam in front of the voters for the six or four years needed.

Remember, Hilly was a shoe in until the media found out they couldn’t BS her in and Trump out campaigned and talked her. She was not up to the task with no real ammunition in her favor, and no real tools to work with around a bad economy getting worse fast, bad foreign relations, (which she was a lot to blame for), and an opponent that wasn’t scareable because they had nothing on him the public hadn’t already seen that meant anything. And a whole lot of things they couldn’t prove and they fell apart. Just like the current efforts.

He fits right in with all the others trying to get rid of Trump. I wonder if he was screaming at the sky the other night?

It would be like him to scream at the sky. I would not want to be in room with Steyer. He comes across as mentally ill.

Anyone who calls Trump unstable has not watched his behavior, especially his speeches, on the Asian tour. The MSM is hiding it so Americans won’t see what a terrific leader he is. On the plane to the Philippines, he answered about 30 questions from the press. The press knows how smart Trump is and, except for Foxnews and Fox business, hopes their viewers never find out.

You are right. They either haven't watched him or they are fanatical out to destroy him because he is smart and capable. Jeanine Pirro had scenes from his Asian tour and other have had them also, and Trump is impressive.

I was disappointed that John Walsh showed creepy Tom Steyer's "message" today on his show The Hunt. Tom Steyer can pass for Marshall Applewhite's brother.
