Hannity is a mixed bag that has a deep establishment streak. He’s a republican before he is a conservative. He is a republican before whatever religious belief he has.

Actually, since the election last year, and during it somewhere, he has changed. He is now against the establishment Rs as well as the Ds. Strikingly so, compared to others like Rush Limbaugh who still peppers his show with pro R anti D verbiage.

Ridiculous slander against Moore? Not Hannity. I was really kind of upset at him Thursday for defending Moore to the over the top degree he was. I take these accusations seriously. I didn’t know what Moore did (still dont) but on Thursday. Hannity was railing for 3 hours about this being a hit job on Moore for political purposes. He over defended Moore. No surprise he had him on the next day to toss him the softballs and clear up these allegations.

I went for a long hike Friday afternoon so missed a lot of his show. On the way home I heard him for a moment and he was strikingly more equivocal about Moore. I wondered what had happened. Later last night I saw he had been on the show, and I read the responses Moore gave. No wonder Hannity changed his over the top defense.

It is fatiguing how FReepers critique Hannity’s intelligence. He is a good, loyal, trustworthy, conservative person who can speak extemporaneously for 20+ hours a week, work for 15-20 hours a day, with flair and energy and passion. You try that. I know I don’t have that kind of energy! He doesn’t shrink from fights even if they affect his bottom line. So I don’t wish to measure his IQ against anyone. It’s not important because he is the real deal. I’d prefer 1 Hannity on our side over a bunch of pointy headed intellectuals who are lazy and wrong half the time.

Like most talk show hosts, Lou Dobbs excluded, Hannity has an ego the size of a mountain and loves to hear himself talk. Not a show goes by that he doesn’t tell you that he used to be a painter, a carpenter, a brick lawyer, a roofer and a construction worker. He’ll also let you know that he’s an expert marksman, has been shooting all his life, and has a concealed carry permit for a half dozen states. He’ll also tell you how tough he is and that he’s a black belt in the martial arts. Every well-know guest on his program he’ll say he has known for years and they’re always there for him. He’ll tell you how he loves country music, He’ll tell you how he grew up hunting and fishing. The truth is Hannity was born and raised in NY City. He didn’t graduate from college and after a couple of years of working at normal blue collar jobs he got a job working for a radio station. He’s worth about 50 million dollars because he was lucky enough to know someone who hired him for a radio show when he was in his 20s. Hannity has a need to be liked by others and he wants to be seen as a “blue collar” guy when of course he’s not. He sounded like an idiot grilling Judge Roy Moore and telling him how awful it is for a 32 year old man to date a 17 or 18 year old girl. He tried to get the judge to admit to something that he barely remembers from 40 years ago. When his liberal buddy Whoraldo told him he had missed his calling and should have been a lawyer because of the way he proved Moore was a “liar”, and that Hannity had ended More’s career it didn’t bother him one bit to hear such nonsense.

All of Fox have been their marching orders. Destroy Roy Moore. Every one of them is doing it except Lou Dobbs, who believes nothing that comes from the Wasington Post. Fox is almost indistinguishable from CNN in their Lynch-mob mentality against Moore. It’s pathetic. The only thing the network had going for it was Bill O’Reilly and they fired him.
