A: Who were NPR’s two sources?
B: How do you know the Monday interview was NPR’s first mention of the Ruddy info? I.e.: something led to NPR’s interview of Ruddy. NPR wouldn’t interview a conservative friend of Trump’s just for the pleasure. In some venue NPR most likely got the info from Ruddy and released it, and then followed up with an interview.

I believe you are confusing the June 12th PBS interview and the June 9th NPR article.

The CBS article, last updated on June 13th, refers to Chris Ruddy's June 12th comments to PBS.
In the June 12th PBS interview of Chris Ruddy, Ruddy claims that Mueller met with Trump, but he makes no mention of how he knows that the meeting occurred.
In a Newsmax (Chris Ruddy is CEO) article written on June 9th, Newsmax says, that NPR reported, also on June 9th, that Mueller met with WH officials. Newsmax makes no mention of who the NPR sources are.
NPR, in their June 9th article, also makes no mention of who their sources are.
The Dailey Caller on June 13th, also refers to the June 9th NPR interview, and they say that the meeting between the two has only now been confirmed by their own unnamed source.
Various sources have reported that PS Sean Spicer has denied that there ever was such a meeting.
Reading through all of these links rather quickly, what I can conclude is that the origin of the story, that Trump and Mueller held a meeting, are unnamed sources from NPR and the Dailey Caller.
