Saudi Arabia said it is targeting the assets of several ultra-rich businessmen and more than 60 princes in its recenrt crackdown on alleged currpution in the kingdom, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Multiple bank account of persons of interests have been frozen. The Saudi central bank saying the move was in response to the Attorney Generals request pending the legal cases against them.
The bank said in a statement on Tuesday that only individual accounts were subject to freeze, while corporate accounts remain functional.
The government has said that any wealth acquired through corruption will be nationalized, aiming to turn the assets worth up to $800 billion into a state property. They reckon that they could get around 2 to 3 trillion riyals from these people. Thats the number they are talking about, a Saudi government insider told the Journal.
The crackdown was facilitated by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who was named heir to the throne back in June, claiming tackling corruption in the oil-dependent kingdom was necessary to modernize the economy.

Hope those thieves in Congress don’t get any ideas...
As much as I would love to see Soros have his billions confiscated, I wouldn’t want a future liberal congress doing the same to Trump or the Koch brothers.
Was someone upstairs in the Saudi-owned Four Seasons, on top of the Mandalay Bay supposed to get knocked off, but didn’t..?
it is obvious we are seeing a major power struggle unfold in Saudi Arabia.
I think it’s possible part of that struggle occurred outside of Saudi Arabia.
If Soros was disappeared along with all of his co-conspirators and their assets seized, odds are there would not be a liberal congress in the future.
“I wouldnt want a future liberal congress doing the same to Trump or the Koch brothers.”
Don’t put the “Cock Bros.” in the same category with Trump. They are a couple of worthless a$$holes who are no more conservative than Paul Ryan. They simply use their money as a means to get what they want with respect to their businesses, nothing more.
The Arab Spring was a huge miscalculation which turned out very, very badly for the Saudis.
The Saudi leaders is fixing his al Qaeda problem, first in Qatar, then at home in Saudi Arabia.
Hopefully, next come the transnationals and the American and European politicians who have acted as the Saudis Janissaries.
Fortunately for us, their Janissaries leaders proved so incompetent and cowardly that their schemes largely failed and backfired .
As it was, it was still a very close thing. We probably owe three brave men on a rooftop in Benghazi and a lonely General in Egypt more than we will ever know.
Were I a Saudi Prince, I would avoid riding on a helicopter with other Princes.
Their economy is floundering due to the drop in oil prices. They are attempting to infuse the economy with the wealth of the princes. It reminds me of the scheme by the 0bama administration to confiscate the wealth of middle class Americans by taking over their IRAs and paying them a monthly stipend in return, thus ensuring them a steady income for the rest of their lives should the market falter and wipe out their private retirement packages. Fortunately, it didnt get off the drawing board.
“Hope those thieves in Congress dont get any ideas...”.
Perhaps it might be a GOOD IDEA to do just that. Remember, there are a lot of slime balls in the swamp Trump has been trying to drain, many of which are IN CONGRESS, the Senate and other government positions.
Hmmm. If we did that to corrupt politicians here we could balance the budget for decades...
...just sayin’
talk about playing hardball. this new crown prince is taking some big steps
He’s settling all family business.
What's old is new again.
Couple reasons he’s doing this:
* Seize it and use it for the people helps him fund his budget in light of declining prices of oil. Especially if they may need to go to war with Iran.
* Fighting corruption is an excuse to purge potential rivals.
* It creates vacancies to put in his younger, similarly opinionated friends and family.
* Fighting corruption and decreasing the number of “princes” is good public relations in a nation where people are frustrated with the growing number of unaccountable nobles.
This is supposedly the BIG PURSE that was funding ISIS and terrorism around the world.
I didn’t know the Clintons had that much money squirreled away!
True!
“This is supposedly the BIG PURSE that was funding ISIS and terrorism around the world.”
And possibly other anti-US interests like ANTIFA and BLM.
And possibly some of our most corrupt Congressmen, Senators and Lobbyists.
To God’s ears the possibility of getting these Princes to squeal and reveal the networks of their offshore corruption in return for their lives.
Then use that info to take down the swamp from a direction they never anticipated.
Was Kushner’s midnight visit to the Crown Prince to provide NSA/CIA/FBI intel on the corruption of the Princes in return for cooperation in areas of future operations as well as disclosure of what is revealed about domestic, anti-US operator’s funding?
Don’t know but very pleased with the results. Today is one year from when President Trump was elected. I am so thankful he is there. President Trump will certainly need our prayers and support.
Word on the web is to expect a false flag any day now, because the Globalist faction in the Deep State is going completely crazy since the Trump Administration is shutting them down.
