Democrat Ralph Northam has won Virginia's race for governor.
Early unofficial results show Northam defeated Republican Ed Gillespie on Tuesday.
Virginia's hard-fought race was closely watched as a swing-state test of President Donald Trump's popularity. Northam, a pediatric neurologist and the state's lieutenant governor, repeatedly tried to tie Gillespie to the president during months of divisive campaigning overshadowed by racial overtones and attack ads.
Northam's victory was in large part due to a surge in anti-Trump energy since the president took office. Democrats said they had record levels of enthusiasm heading into the race.
Gillespie kept Trump at a distance throughout the campaign but tried to rally the president's supporters with hard-edge ads focused on illegal immigration and preserving Confederate statues.

Naw, I’m seeing on this thread that the Republicans are no different so the conclusion is those things would be happening even if the “RINO” had won.
The left wants to turn a lot of southern states into VA by flooding them big cities with illegals, dreamers, refugees etc.
the only population that has increased in VA is the illegal and immigrant population and that’s why we have VA a blue state now.
this is why we can not relent on the wall, and tough immigration control because the left will turn all those southern states like VA. States like Texas and Arizona and Georgia.
Georgia is already 10% Hispanic. FL is being flooded with Hispanics. South Florida is already gone and soon Central Florida will be too. My area of NE FL (Jacksonville area) becomes less “Southern” with each passing year.
The Wall is too late since the enemy is area already inside the wire, IMO.
Virginia will be won by a Republican soon.

We cannot allow the left to do to TX, GA, and AZ what they’ve done to VA with the huge influx of illegals, dreamers etc.
They’ve flooded NoVa over the last 2 decades and the GOPe played along with it. Now it they have finally reached the numbers to turn the state blue for years to come. Not to mention the huge growth of the federal bureaucracy in the last two decades. Another lefty constituency to mix in with the illegals.
It’s clear why the left go into hysterics when border control, immigration control and the wall is talked about. They’re importing socialist friendly 3rd worlders to change the demographics in these states.

NOVA is a huge part of the swamp. Everyone from Fredricksburg northward commute into DC for their government jobs. Sorry but Gillespie couldn’t shed his own swamp skin to convince enough downstate voters that he could make any difference.
Besides, the governorship of VA doesn’t mean diddly in the broad context of the reshaping of the US political landscape./

We didnt lose anything, the Gov office was already held by a lousy rat. Let VA have their lousy rat and turn into Detroit and Chicago. VA has only been blue for ten years. Wait until 25/30 years of lefty rule has taken place, and VA will be a huge disaster.

Government employees, illegal aliens, green card holders, etc. They all have one thing in common.
They’re all parasites. All they know how to do is to live off the host until it dies.

In the last decade, thanks to illegal immigration and the establishment Republicans letting it happen, Virginia has become a solid blue state.
In Northern Virginia illegal aliens and green card immigrants have been registered by the tens of thousands, and they vote. Establishment Republicans control the legislature but with few exceptions allowed the illegal alien invasion and vote fraud continue because they wanted the Chamber of Commerce and cheap labor donor class support and funding.
Gillespie was with them supporting amnesty until he got desperate at the end and picked up the sanctuary city scheme, which he never would have lived up to. He barely beat a true Make America Great Again conservative Corey Stewart by less than 1% in the primary and then he and his campaign disowned those supporters and Trump voters by trying to woo democrat “moderates”.
He didn’t get beat by Northam. He got beat because he dissed the Deplorables base like the rest of the Virginia Republican establishment has been doing. He got payback.
Because of illegal immigration, Virginia is becoming the California of the east. And Republicans let it happen.

THIS IS THE ONLY REASON VA IS BLUE NOW. I keep talking about it but people still insist it’s GOV employees or transplants from other northern liberal states. Nah, NoVa has always been nothing but Federal employees. The thing that has changed is exactly what you mentioned above.
And EG is part of the GOPe Bushie party that not only allowed for this to happen but actively supported it.
The entire eastern seaboard from NC to FL is in danger of flipping blue. And to make it worse that is where some big population growth will happen. Doesn’t matter if the GOP picks up a depopulated OH, PA, etc. because it will be game over USA.
And we laugh at how unhinged they became, and still are, after Trump won the election.
We shouldn’t be laughing. These people are scary. They don’t know to live decently and have no good will to extend to those who do or who would stand in their way.

That was long long long before the arrival of 30 Million LEGAL immigrants during last 25 years. Majority came in as chain migrants, which simply means sponsored for a green card by another green card holder. A green card is another name for permanent resident visa, which is first step towards applying for citizenship 3-5 years later.

Not to Massachusetts, we have it bad enough here and oddly enough really don’t have too much problem electing a GOP Governor, albeit a more moderate variety.
