I am no fan of Gillespie, but any Rep would have lost. It looks like an 8.4% blow out. Vogel and Adams also lost.
Cucinelli nearly won just four years ago. Something else happened besides the demographic trend, which is gradual. Maybe it was the felons Mcauliffe legalized. Normally I don’t put much stock in simple explanations like that, but this result doesn’t totally make sense to me.
There was no top of the ticket, no draw. Admit Gellispe was a bad candidate and move on. But loser Republicans who will back anyone with an R by his name can’t seem to grow up.
