The only comfort Christians have is that those 26 souls are in paradise and will never hurt or need for anything again. And that one soul is burning in hell and will never feel anything again except the most brutal, extreme pain, for eternity. Keep your faith.
The Texas church shooter Devin Kelley killed a baby aged only 18 months during the massacre that killed at least 26 people on Sunday afternoon, police have announced.
A five-year-old was previously the youngest reported victim. The oldest of the 26 people killed in the attack was 77, authorities say. ...

"As he exited the church, a local resident grabbed his gun and pursued the suspect, who dropped his weapon and fled the scene.
The suspect was later found dead inside his vehicle. Officials are unsure if he was shot by a resident or suffered a self inflicted gunshot wound, said Freeman Martin, regional director of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The daughter of the churchs pastor was one of the victims killed in the shooting, her mother Sherri Pomeroy told CBS News via text message.
My husband and I were ironically out of town in two different states. We lost our 14-year-old daughter today and many friends, Pomeroy said Sunday.
She added, Neither of us have made it back into town yet to personally see the devastation. I am at the Charlotte airport trying to get home as soon as I can. ..."

Expecting violent anti-social losers to self-police is just plain delusional.
The guy committed an act of violence against a child. That he ever saw the outside of a prison cell is a conviction of our society as a whole.
We no longer punish evil or seek to remove it from society, we cultivate it and do all we can to encourage its existence. Entertainment, politics, and media both promote it and feed on it.
Doesn’t apply to a Bad Conduct discharge. He could have answered “no” and could have still lawfully bought a firearm... unless his domestic violence conviction had been flagged. It wasn’t.
“He had a pit bull puppy that he kept tied up in the sun all day outside of his RV, she said. She also recalled an incident in which the police were called because the man had struck the dog in the head.
The police arrived and there was a standoff for approximately an hour, she said, in which her neighbor refused to come out of his trailer.
Records show Mr. Kelley was charged with cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor, in August 2014.” —NYT
That’s because the justice system turned on it’s head during the late 60’s and 70’s to embrace a philosophy of rehabilitation instead of retribution. Another one of those swell ideas that came out of the socialist/liberal/anti-establishment mindset of the times. There is NO effective rehabilitation for child molesters or sexual predators, for example, yet the government persists in putting these animals in special “treatment” centers and then turning them loose on the vulnerable public over and over again. Domestic violence crimes are routinely charged as 4th Degree Assault even when victims have sustained serious and life-threatening injuries. Our justice system is so broken. It’s an unmitigated scandal.

It looks that way. Thanks!

Types of Discharges...

So the next question is, if Kelley fractured his baby’s skull, how did he get away without a dishonorable discharge (worse than a bad conduct discharge, see “types” above)? Little family $influence there, perhaps?
On why I posted this, we needed to know. The question would have been repeated, until the truth was found and disseminated.
The MOST DANGEROUS place for a child is in the home without the FATHER present!
He was found guilty of misdemeanor offenses... the federal instant check system looks for disqualifying felonies.
The guy had a clean criminal record and if he hadn’t carried out a massacre, no one would have cared he possessed firearms.
It became a concern only because he committed mass murder. People don’t ask too many questions beforehand because none of us is perfect.
And we deserve a second chance.
>>He assaulted his stepson severely enough that he fractured his skull<<
As soon as he did this, within a week, he should have been tried, found guilty, and hanged. Had this been the case, no one at that church would have been harmed. Think about it.
I agree he should gotten life in prison.
But domestic violence cases are difficult to prosecute and no one wants to take sides in them.
Misdemeanor convictions are usually not flagged. Most of time they’re not worth writing home about and shouldn’t keep someone from buying a firearm.
People rightfully take felony convictions more seriously and for good reason.
I would say in hindsight the system worked. No one expects a guy with no previous criminal history to shoot up a church.
If you had asked Kelley a week ago if he would do a thing like that, he would probably have said “no.” With free will, what human beings do is impossible to predict.
See the news about the value of his folks’ place. See also, afluenza of the families of previous mass murderers of the past few years.
