Another thing- reporters are lazy so they will use any source to keep them from doing real work- they also copy each other which is bad enough. They pour over social media and use things they find to write what they claim to be news articles. We are all warned to be careful of the accuracy of information we see online, yet reporters use things they find on social media and questionable websites from completely unknown sources all the time. Facebook is like neighbors gossiping over the fence, but good enough for reporters even on serious news. That is why they so easily fall for hoaxes when something like a shooting happens and end up naming the wrong person or even a comedian as the shooter.
