As an employee of six months seniority, she was likely in some sort of “probationary period” where it is easier for her employer to fire. Not to worry, she’ll likely soon find another way in the DC metro area to feed off the government teat.
She apparently worked for a government contractor in marketing and PR, :-), so I would have fired her too.
