Don’t be to quick to judge an old country sheriff, they may talk slow, most Texans do, but I bet he knows damn near everyone in that county. Probably seen more than most in his lifetime.
Just my initial impression. First thing I noticed was he wasn’t in uniform, not even a shirt with “patches”. Maybe that’s a TX thing though.
