In his dinner toast, Prime Minister Abe hailed a return to golf diplomacy by the American and Japanese leaders, amusing Pres Trump.
PM Abe recalled that 60 years ago, Prime Minister Kishi and Pres. Eisenhower "were the ones who initiated this tradition" of golf diplomacy.
"When you play golf with someone not just once but twice, the person must be your favorite guy," PM Abe said of Pres Trump.
"It's an honor to have you as my good friend," Pres Trump tells PM Abe in reciprocal dinner toast.
Pres and Mrs Trump now spend Monday night in Tokyo and depart Tuesday morning for a State Visit to South Korea.--per Mark Knoller-CBS
