While I won’t assign levels of equivalence between two, it seems to me that factions of BOTH major parties in the 2016 election fought hard to undermine a candidate or candidates in order to anoint their ‘chosen one’.

I think the idea of primaries was to shift power to the “progressives”, because primaries are fought out in the public sphere generally, instead of behind closed doors.
In the public sphere, for 50 years, the center of power was the establishment (progressive) media. So the establishment of primaries was a way to shift power away from conservatives to progressives.
In 2008 you had a split between the media and other progressives aligned with the Clintons. In 2016, all the establishment progressives were with the Clintons, but there was an upstart movement to choose Bernie, for the reasons you stated.

What I would like to know is the REAL reason the Dims have been kissing the butt of Hitlery for so long. What is the reason for that? She has the personality of a gourd, she’s about as personable as the plague yet they’ve been propping her up as the savior all humanity for decades.

My theory...when all scandals were well hidden, she had money and power...light is starting to expose her scandals, and thus, knowing she won’t ever be president, she has no power to have OR, to give. She has only money. Everyone knows she and Bill don’t share, so the rats are jumping out of the boat. As the scandals unravel, like LS said, as sips of fine wine, they will come for her money.
Everyone (the rats) gravitate to daddy Starbucks...Soros and son, and the other son, Obama...they have money and power to give...Trump is doing a good job of cutting back that power...much more work ahead, but we are winning.
