Seriously, no one should be applauding this. These rights exist for a reason, and one of them is that the judicial system would trample people if it could.
Well, I guess this case is headed for the Supreme Court, which is a waste of everyone’s time and money.
In an interrogation if a guy uses the lawyer word you get him a lawyer. End of discussion.

The failure of the judicial system to expel the creative sophists in their midst is why this country is swirling the drain.
These rights only exist to give you an illusion of freedom and protection from the government, once they are inconvenient to them they disappear. This is just another case in point.
I see blatant disregard for peoples constitutional rights every day by the judicial system in America. They trample everyone equally at least.
You know what it’s all about? It’s all about money. There is so much funding for cops, prosecutors, prisons, states, education, etc. Every time they send someone to prison. Innocent or guilty. Not to mention all the career opportunities for nasty cops , prosecutors and judges like these. All the good cops go along to get along with the meat-eaters. Nobody wants to be a “rat.”
