Being in my mid 40’s, I’ve never been in a situation where somebody could draw my name in a draft lottery and I would be forced to go fight without my consent.
The Draft is such a foreign idea now, I can’t imagine the situation it would take for the draft to take place again.
A lot of students were afraid of the Draft back then & tried to get out of it. Once LBJ became president, the US changed in many ways that were not good.
