Only if you believe that every democrat in this state enjoys the high taxes they're paying.
Did you see the visceral reaction by Crook County voters to the "sugary tax" drink? That blew the lid (no pun intended) off of this state's high taxes ...
There were people on TV saying they knew they already paid the highest property taxes and sales taxes in the country, that pushed them right over the edge!
They got a lesson in Civics and IMO (hopefully...) are starting to figure out just how over-taxed and how corrupt this state is.

In the northeast, high property taxes are seen as the tool to keep the local schools good and the riffraff out. It’s seen as a means of preserving property values.
I don’t think people are going to care about the state income tax, but they are going to flip over not being able to deduct their property taxes.
There were also democrats who pointed out that Illinois sends about $40 billion more to DC than it receives back. That might be a bit high, but Illinois is among the worst. That's a problem that won't be addressed, but which is ripe for exploitation as that condition worsens.
